Marios Politis is from Athens, GR and started his music endeavours at the age of 14 with a guitar that was given to him by his older brother. At the age of 17 he started to sing and perform live shows at many venues all around Athens, not only as a solo artist, but as a member of metal bands too.
The very first song he managed to perform, was the mighty and classic, «Afraid to shoot strangers» of Iron Maiden, however, he was always struggling when he had to choose in which music scene he fits better. He was moving easily from metal and rock, to blues and Beatles and then back to Metallica. For him music is just a combination of sounds and feelings and not genres. In 2012 and after roaming a lot, he found himself in the quartet «Fade» – playing covers and original songs, from pop to metal and back to rock, in different venues in Athens.
He strongly believes that the power of music is much stronger than the power of speech. That’s why, he’s here, introducing himself from scratch with a new project that brings his name on it. This is his story and doesn’t need specific patterns, or borders, because Marios himself is more than just one thing. Marios Politis new project, consists of 12 radio friendly songs, including mostly British rock/pop elements, that change rapidly and repeatedly from Alternative, Art, Cinematic & Psychedelic, to Blues, Experimental, Folk and so on.
«When you know what matters most, everything makes sense. When you don’t know what matters most, anything makes sense.»
The new album is expected to be released in early 2020.
